Anthem is the newest Bioware game. It is an Open world RPG and is considered to be in the same genre as Destiny. I worked as a Technical Designer for the most part on this project, although I helped support the UI, Cinematics and Narrative Programming team at different points throughout the project.
I was responsible for quite a few of the base systems on this project. The biggest on being the quest system, but I also owned collectibles, doors, player persistence and filler distribution. I was also in charge of tech audits for the level design team. These tech audits were put in place to catch any major problems with scripting and programming. Along with my responsibilites as a Technical Designer, I tried to immerse myself in the code base as much as possible. I was able to submit a bit of code on Anthem, including adding more functionality to player persistence, improving the transition system, converting code to player specific actions and updating how our state controllers work to get them to suit our needs.
Anthem has been a great learning experience and has really helped me get a complete picture of what goes into making a game. I was given lots of freedom in designs and I think I really added a lot to the project. I like to think Bioware feels the same way as I was awarded the "Humility and Integrity" award at one of our all hands meetings.
4044 a Princess Odyssey was a capstone project for the Game Development Certificate at the University of Alberta. It was created by me and 5 other students. My primary role on this project was programming. I programmed most of the enemy behaviours, item drops and player movement. I also learned that making a procedurally generated map is a lot harder than it looks. We had 4 months to complete this game from start to finish. It was honestly a big challenge with the scope we chose and the little time we had, but I think we pulled off a great game.

The game is classified as a rogue-like dungeon crawler and we were basing it off games like the Binding of Isacc. There is much loot to pick up and the rooms are randomly spawned. You also start out as a different variant of the main character every time you respawn. There is a win condition where the player has to defeat a final boss. This game ended up winning best game of the class.

Hemispheres was a fun project I created with a friend in Game Maker, with both of us doing the programming and design. We created it based off strict requirements. We were given 5 art assets to use in the game and those were the only art assets we could use. We ended up getting the following random images: A cartoon giraffe, an apple, a speech bubble, the Mona Lisa and the Rush Album Hemispheres. From this we created a bizarre game based around the two sides of the brain; the logical side and the creative side. We used only rush lyrics from a song on the Hemispheres album. In the end the game aimed to show how both the logical side and the creative side of the brain are necessary to succeed.
